SCARPA Vapor S climbing shoes are the latest innovation to be released as part of SCARPA's now super popular Vapor line.
In this line you will find the more rigid version with lace fastening, a version with a half sole and softer than the previous one with Velcro and now you will also find a version that is still soft with a really innovative lacing system. But let's go step by step and study this shoe in more detail.
Suitable for crags but also for the gym, this shoe is perfect for those looking for something intermediate, not too aggressive that won't hurt the foot too much. In fact, the position of the big toe on the inside is only slightly arched to ensure excellent precision.
On the other hand, as far as the internal construction is concerned, you will find a tensioning that, thanks to the Bi-Tension System, starts from the toe and goes all the way up to the arch of the foot, providing stability and the right amount of power.
The sole and midsole package, on the other hand, consists of a midsole that covers the entire length to give support and precision and a Vibram XS Grip2 compound that is softer than the Vibram XS Edge. This is why it is an extremely multipurpose shoe: a full sole but with a softer compound so as to combine all the advantages of the two.
The upper, on the other hand, is a perfect combination combining pieces of microfibre without creating any annoying overlaps. At the instep, then, you will find a gusset that facilitates wearing.
The Nano Strap System lacing system, on the other hand, is particularly innovative in that it allows you to adjust the internal volumes to perfection according to three closure modes: Slipper mode for the most relaxed, Fast mode for greater adherence at the instep and Strong mode for maximum closure at the ankle.
