Ortovox Pro Alu III + Pocket Spike avalanche ice axe shovel is part of the safety equipment to always have in your backpack and to be used in an emergency.
With Shovel Pro Alu III you have an anodized aluminum bucket with a telescopic handle, a volume of 2.7 l, a total weight of 770 grams and a small footprint that allows you to disassemble it in just a few steps and stow it in any hiking backpack.
The Pro version also allows you to use the bucket either as a digging shovel or as a stretcher or emergency sled, thanks to the four corner holes.
Extremely light, capacious and versatile, compact and ultra-resistant.
The blade is sharp, to better bite the snow, the handle is telescopic, grooved and has a rubber coating on the bottom for maximum ergonomics, while the hybrid handle allows you various gripping modes, both for left and right handed .
Instead, Pocket Spike has two parts: a forged aluminum beak and a tip, both weighing just 90 grams.
The two elements must be inserted respectively on the grip of the blade Pro Alu III and in place of the bucket of the blade. What you will get will be an emergency ice ax to use as a support for walking on snow and firn or as a brake support, especially if you miss a few meters to reach the summit or you have a steep terrain and a difficult to cross crossing.
The quick-lock system, with quick release, guarantees you an easy and quick assembly of all the building blocks.
