La Sportiva Cobra 4.99 is the reinterpretation of the iconic La Sportiva model designed specifically for speed competitions!
The name says it all: 4.99, being able to break down the 5 second barrier in speed races! In these new Cobra 4.99 La Sportiva has tried to minimize weight, while increasing the performance of the shoe in several ways:
- the upper is no longer in leather, but is now made of microfiber. A material with a very low specific weight, which adapts very well to the foot and its shapes.
- the tip covered in a very resistant and slippery rubber! In contrast to the classic models precisely because in speed the upper part of the shoe often crawls against the holds and against the wall, ruining and slowing down the climber. Thanks to this insert, the friction will be much less and the resistance and duration of the shoe will increase considerably.
- the sole has been split in half! The front is in Vibram XS Grip2, super adherent and performing, while the rear, practically unused in speed, is made with a very light rubber layer, so as to gain a few grams here too.
The result is an extremely high performance reinterpretation of the La Sportiva dancer, weighing only 340 g per pair!
