The Grivel K8G Sigma Twin Gate climbing carabiner is revolutionary and designed for belaying manoeuvres with single or double ropes.
The K8G Sigma has a D shape and is made of the same metal used for ice axe handles, hot forged from 7000 aluminium, guaranteeing excellent strength, durability and lightness.
The Twin Gate locking system devised by the French company to offer mountaineers new safety standards and winner of the prestigious Compasso d'Oro award for design applied to safety, is based on two levers, one curved key-lock and one flush, which open in opposite directions on the same side of the carabiner.
Twin Gate is one of the safest locking systems in the world. It cannot be opened except by applying two opposing forces to the two levers, and there is no risk of the rope or other devices slipping out. Among other things, this technology guarantees quick and convenient use compared to carabiners with screw or automatic locking nuts.
